A distinguished academic in engineering and an accomplished venture capitalist in a range of industries, Prof. Ko began his career at Bell Labs and UC Berkeley, where he led the Microfabrication Lab and served as Vice Chairman of the EECS Department. In 1995, he became Dean of Engineering at the HK University of Science and Technology, fostering a generation of innovative researchers. Prof. Ko is a prominent angel investor, building a portfolio of over 20 highly successful companies, including industry leaders such as DJI, SFI, Celestry, Googol and many others. Combining technical expertise with entrepreneurial flair and vision, Ping brings unparalleled stewardship, creativity, and inventiveness to the EMEKO team.

Ms. Esther WONG​


Ms. Wong is a seasoned executive specializing in merchandising and promotions, resource integration and other functions. She has decades of experience working with European, American, Middle Eastern and Asian companies, as her own company has for 15 years been marketing leading global brands. Esther was the only Chairlady of the Federation of HK Watch and Clock Trades and Industry since 1947, and is currently the Executive Vice President of the HK Middle East Business Chamber. She has a vast network of professional and personal contacts, and has assisted many business organizations and charity groups in large-scale fundraising and community projects, with excellent media and PR coverage.

Dr. Michael LEUNG

An engineer by training and by vocation, Dr. Leung has extensive experience in Information Technology and Operations Management within the banking and finance sector. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Leung has held CEO and other C-suite positions at leading banks and consulting firms, both locally and internationally. Earlier in his career, Michael worked on technical research and development at the Dutch Philips and IBM. He is a former President of the HK Computer Society, Chairman of Cross Border e-Commerce Association, a Board Director of the Cyberport – a premier innovation hub in HK, a member of the Training Board of HK Vocational Training Council, as well as a Professor of Practice at the City University of Hong Kong.

Following an accomplished career in corporate finance and senior management, Eveline has spent the past decade pursuing her creative dream, exploring the rich culture of traditional art and crafts like ceramics, painting and sculpture. She discovered the transformative power of glassblowing, which handcrafts a piece of both art and science that captures the energy and spirit of the material and the artist. Eveline leads a successful artisan glassware and jewellery business globally, and runs a residency program that gathers experts from around the world to her much coveted workshop in Shanghai, China, for sharing ideas, melding cultures, and exploring the vast possibilities of glass.
